The Rev. Scott Dennis Nowack was born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey and baptized in the First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan, NJ, he grew up in a Christian home a “Preacher’s Kid” (his mother is an ordained PC(USA) minister) on the Jersey Shore. He is a 1989 graduate of Westhill High School in Syracuse, NY and a 1993 graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA with a B.A. in History and Government. While working as a sales representative for a steel company in Chicago, Scott began to discern a call to the ministry. After careful prayerful consideration, he attended Princeton Theological Seminary where he graduated with a M.Div. degree in 1999.

During his years at Princeton, he served in the First Presbyterian Church of Tower Hill in Red Bank, New Jersey, the Presbyterian Church of Basking Ridge, NJ and the Lamington Presbyterian Church in Bedminster, New Jersey, in addition to a full-year, full-time internship at the First Presbyterian Church in Vallejo, California.

Scott was ordained on October 31, 1999 to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA) at the Presbyterian Church of Basking Ridge, NJ, where he served as the Interim Association Pastor for Youth and Young Adults. Scott served as the Associate Pastor for Youth and Family Ministry at the Presbyterian Church of Upper Montclair, New Jersey for almost three years and at Abington Presbyterian Church (Philadelphia) as the Associate Pastor for Christian Education and Youth since 2003.

Scott says, “I consider it a blessing and an honor to serve and minister in Jesus' name. I want all whom I encounter to know the love God has for them and to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. We are called to make disciples of Jesus Christ.”

Scott is married to his lovely wife, D’Anna, a native Texan and a 1995 graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and a 1998 graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont. She works as a speech-therapy pathologist. They have two children: two-year-old son Michael and seven-month-old daughter Marissa. They have two cats: a Silver Tabby named Simba and a Blue Russian mix ZuZu.

Scott’s interests include GOD, spending time with his family, playing basketball and golf, New York Yankees baseball, Syracuse University Men's Basketball, Texas Longhorns Football, playing the guitar, reading, geopolitics & international affairs, Middle Eastern archeology, landscaping and woodworking.
